DEBATE: Art of Debate (Grades 7-8th)

This debate program is designed to help students in grades 7th through 8th develop mastery of public speaking, critical thinking and communication. For 4 weeks, from August 4th to 25th, student will debate present-day issues, develop self-confidence and improve their critical thinking, public speaking, listening and logical reasoning skills. Workshops last 1.5 hours, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm EST, for 4 weeks. Participants get to learn and extensively practice the fundamentals of public speaking and effective communication skills in various interactive settings. This program empowers students to not only explore important controversies, but also to find their own voice through advocacy.
